FEB 1 at 8:41 am UPDATE…Three Layer Storm Straight Ahead

Discussion started by robweather 3 years ago

Once again this is all about location and with a typical storm in this area... N & W wins out as far as snowfall. There are are few wildcards to watch and as the models roll in so we'll get the latest here on the fly.

WILD CARD #1

Cold Air Damming.

This feature is not as pronounced as it was on the models 24 hours ago but the Canadian has held ground on this idea so it becomes the biggest and first wildcard.

The Canadian just in shows that same CAD but maybe not as deep. The snow hangs on into early Monday which could mean school closings if you follow the Canadian solution. This is the only model showing this that's why we call this wildcard #1

There may be more snow outside right now than there was during the "blizzard" here in NE Philly

This is most distressing. 48 hours ago I was convinced I would have a snow day tomorrow and now it looks like I'm getting basically rain. Boo.

Rob states that "there are a few wild cards to watch" but all that is listed is Wild Card #1. I think that suggests that for those of us S&E of I-95, we are holding a very poor hand for snow this time around.
