Weekend Forecast from the 19th hole....

HAH!  Thought I forgot, didn't you!  Well - I've just been too darn busy over the last few weeks.  Lots going on.

Weather has generally sucked this spring.  Cold, blah.  But I think we're finally shifting gears.

Don't have too much time so I'll get right into it.

Bubba wins another green jacket.  Unbelieveable.  The most unconventional professional golfer I've ever seen.  Who in their right mind would try to go over the trees?  We amateurs think crazy like that, but those guys aren't supposed to do crazy things like that!!  That was so much fun to watch.

Has anyone noticed how a lot of leftys have been winning since they "tiger-proofed" the course???

PGA up next - that is always a great tournament to watch.

I'm sure all, like me, are still knocking the cobwebs out of your games due to the looooonnnngggg layoff this winter - stay patient.  Don't worry about mechanics - just work on tempo.  A nice smooth swing.  Focus on short game.

Ok - now to the weather.

Saturday:  Partly cloudy, slight chance of showers, light winds late int he afternoon from the SSW.  Temps should range from mid to upper 60s, probably some 70s in the southern parts of the area.

Sunday: Mostly sunny.  Slight chance for a passing shower as the L up north moves across, up and away.  Light winds, temps mostly mid-upper 60s.

All in all a great weekend compared the crap we've had so far this spring!!

And now for the real fun part......the drink of the weekend!!  This one is for my favorite event in the spring - The Kentucky Derby!!!    We throw a bang of a party every year - which is why I need to run - lots to do to get ready!!

Drink: Chocolate Mint Julep  (still can't post pics so here's a link for the pic - http://www.foxnews.com/recipe/chocolate-mint-julep).

Ingredients

  • 1 Shot Woodford Reserve or other bourbon
  • 1 Shot creme de menthe
  • 1 Shot Godiva liqueur
  • Mint sprig

Preparation

Step 1:

Strain bourbon, creme de menthe and Godiva liqueur over ice and pour into a martini or cocktail glass.

Step 2:

Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.

Cheers!!!!
