As we head into Spring we still have some leftover cold air and later this week we see a small smow event Thursday night into Friday morning. The snow will stick mainly to grassy areas and car tops as low temps are in the upper 20's to low 30's. Here is the look at the map for Thursday night into early Friday.
The storm system will develop in the Midwest and push east and finally out to sea. The storm never really gets a chance to gather any real moisture so we'll see this as a light event as of now. The models esp. the European had hinted a bigger storm but has backed off the last few days. The GFS has pushed for the most snow but it's still on the smaller event as far as snow.
It may start as a little rain over to wet snow after 9pm. The wet snow lasts into the early hours on Friday with even a few rain showers mixed with a few flakes Friday mid morning. A few left over rain showers in the after on Friday may end as a few flurries Friday night.
If we get the system to slow down maybe blow up off the coast we could see a little more snow buyt at this point that does not look likely. The snow totals above may be slightly higher on some of the hiherh elevations in PA and MD.
WEEKEND SNOW SHOWERS?
We may even see a few weekend snow showers as the last few signs of winter hang on. Mid to late March may look warmer than normal so the reward of Spring is not that far off.
