9:30pm October 5 Powerful Hurricane Matthew heads to Florida & The Bahamas (Double Hit for Florida?)

Discussion started by robweather 10 months ago

The track of Powerful Hurricane Matthew could be an historical one in several ways. The area from about Jacksonville to just south of Melbourne has never been hit by a major hurricane from the Atlantic Ocean. The hurricane may also take a loop up near GA and SC but turn around and hit Florida again next week. Yup the European model grabs this idea first and the models are trending that way as of tonight.

WHERE DOES IT MAKE LANDFALL AND HOW BIG WILL IT BE?

MY FORECAST AS OF TONIGHT

I do think this will make landfall between Melbourne and Daytona beach on Friday as a High Category 3 or lower Category 4. The wildcard will be the amont of rain and massive flooding for Florida and storm surge along the coast. The will be a 3 billion dollar damage storm before it's all over. Lets hope people evacuate and remember you can replace a car or house not a life.
