Thursday will mark the fourth rainfall of one inch or more in the last 8 days as we come out of one of the more active weather periods in about 2 years. The pattern change advertised back in late February has now run its course and we are about to flip to a warm pattern for a few days at least. Those of you waiting for some nice spring weather are about to get at least three days and possibly 4 before the next cold front comes through later next Wednesday. The seeds of the warm up start with this major spring storm that is moving in for later tonight with heavy rains on Thursday and lingerhing showers around on Friday.
The upper air jet stream pattern is in an extreme position late this week with the intense storm in the upper atmosphere in the east. When the atmosphere is in an extreme position it then spends the next several days getting back to something resembling normal or at least relaxing.
