Wow an eye opening read...."The ocean is broken," he said, shaking his head in stunned disbelief. ....If you cannot see it in this world it is brushed under the rug.... how we forget what is out there in our oceans!! Case in point all the debris in the Indian Ocean from the Tusnami on Dec. 26th 2004 this debris made it impossible in some cases to find debris from missing flight MH370... just amazing that this stuff is out there still after 10 years!!.. Something has to be done but in international waters... money, man power, and time over a geographical area are the barriers to solving this problem.
Yes, indeed El Nino looks likely and I think we start feeling the effects of this by September as well. It appears to be an east based El Nino and with a negative NAO could spell very heavy snows in the Mid Atlantic points northeastbound. Now a caveat to this will be the rapidly warming waters of the Gulf of Mexico and up and down the East Coast during the last two weeks or so. The waters here are also warming rapidly which would be fuel for large noreasters come this fall and winter!!
