As of right now I see lake effect snows to start thursday afternoon in upstate new york east of the lakes before drifting south and weakening saturday night. As you can see this will be prolonged event and snow totals will pile up, now accumlations or headlines are out but wensday there will likely be a watch in effect. If there is a guess it would probably be in feet. Will keep updated. 2/2.

Good monday evening everybody hope your monday is going well in upstate new york. Weather wise it's partly to mostly cloudy but that will all change come this evening as a low pressure system bring a period of light to moderate snow then will mix in with sleet and freezing rain then to plain old rain later tuesday, looking ahead there could be a threat for cold air and lake effect snow forecast 1/2

Good morning everybody! so far things are quite for the rest of week, maybe a brief shower Thursday night. I know you are wondering where is the snow? well it's coming just not within the next few days, it would be likely next Thursday night through Sunday afternoon then the second best chance is the following week Tuesday night through Friday. will keep updated.

Hey good morning everyone. Looking into this week it looks rather quite and mild, we actually may flirt with 60 degree mark. monday I am watching a low pressure system that will rather be rain/windy with colder air behind it will generate lake snow east of the lakes behind the low. right now i think snow totals will be 1-2 feet. will keep posted.

Looking into next week monday night the low pressure heads off leaving light snow showers on the tail end of it, then lake snow will devolope east of lake ontario, this will not be long lived though monday night tuesday and tuesday evening. There will be light rain by thursday changing over to heavier snow by the afternoon and evening. More lake effect snow afterwards for possibly 31/2 days.

If you look into the runs on tropical tidbits it shows a possible snow storm for the northeast.

Today winds WSW sending a band of lake rain northeast of the lakes. Winds shift to the west and a band of lake snow will develope Saturday night going into Sunday, Sunday night, and into early Monday. The best chance for it to be the strongest is Sunday evening, Sunday night, and Monday morning. accumulations of 1-2 feet possible. I might have to change the snowfall out look. Will keep you posted

Lake effect snow this weekend for the great lakes!!! I am forecasting right now 1-2 feet of snow with possible higher amounts. Accuweather and the national weather service are saying significant snow accumulations. give or take a few significant could be little snow to 3 feet. This is for east of lake ontario right now will keep posted. Have any questions text me.

Joe if you are still on right now I agree 100 percent and i think after a system passes through the northeast next week lake effect snow could set up.

THIS JUST IN: Right now i see it that we could have three cold shots now and if you watch the models it shows that there is the possibility for this pattern to continue.

I will keep you guys updated but it looks like the first cold shot that joe mentioned could be stronger.
Will keep an eye on it.

Looks like the weekend before thanksgiving and the weekend after thanksgiving and in between will be cold for midwest and the northeast with some storms of snow and lake effect snow.

As of right now i see it as there will be cold for possibly several days but will only be most effective in the northeast and upper great lakes reigon. I also see abundant moisture on october 29 for the northeast which could mean some snow for the northeast, now as of lake effect snow i am not sure but will let you know, if i had to give an estimated amount right now it would be 1-3 locally 4 feet

snow possible higher elevations, lake effect snow is possible this weekend, not out of the question. If I was to give an estimated amount for the northeast it would be maine, new hampshire, and vermont who would get the most with 5-8 inches possible now for new york I would say that that for lower elevations it would be trace to two inches even if that now for higher elevations 3-6 is possible.
