For Dean, weather has always been a passion. He knew at the age of 7 he wanted to work in some capacity of weather, and he indeed has had his foot in many capacities. He started his career as a SKYWARN spotter in 1992 for the Mount Holly County Warning Area, before proceeding onto county coordinator where he remained for four years. He attended Burlington County Institute of Technology in Medford, New Jersey, where he studied Environmental Studies (now called Geospacial Technologies and remote sensing). He also obtained a certificate in Environmental Studies and Remote Sensing. He is a founding member of the Delaware/Philadelphia area American Meteorological Society and served as Vice President under John More (BCIT instructor) and Rob Guarino (Live Weather Blogs founder) from 2003-2006. Dean is a forecaster for a storm chase team out of NC Stormsquad.net. He resides in Roanoke Virginia.
